kayaking in the old town

The Old Town kayaks have lots of room in the comfortable cockpits and also lots of storage with a twist lock system for the hatch that stops most of the leaks. The seats and feet rests can adjust to your preference, and you have a glove box, cup holder and an open cockpit control panel. There is also an anchor system and rod holders for those that like to fish. You can kit your Old Town kayak with what ever you want.

The tandem Old Town has the best stable maneuverability.

The mechanics of the Old Town kayaks make them the leaders with the upmost state of the art materials used in their making. Using a polylink three layered material which comprises of; outside linear layer
foam coreinside linear layer

This is a patented product and therefore does a great job insulating the kayak aswell as having a built in floatation system.

There are many different series in the Old Town Kayaks, it all depends on what you want your boat for. They track well so you would want to go for the Loon series that are good for exploring lakes and rivers.

If you want more of a day trip or tour of some sort then you would go for a Castine or the Nantucket series. These boats are longer and have more storage space.

For the more recreational sort of day trip then you may want to consider a Casco or Otter series.

Finally for all those fishermen and hunters, then the new Predator series are for you. They are kitted out especially for hunters and fishermen. They are small stable and light weight so you can easily put it on top of your carThe conclusion of this is that what ever series you choose in the Old Town kayak range, you will not be disapointed. With the vast amount of accessories that you can add to your kayak They are trully the leaders.

Having stability, resilience, very rigid, light weight, insulated and have long life, what more could you want in a kayak.

Kayak fishing is catching on

My first fishing kayak was an Old Town Loon, a sit-inside that was so stable that with a bit of practice (and several dunkings), I  could stand in the cockpit to fly cast.

perception vs. old town kayaks?perception acadia or old town loon? what’s the better kayak and why? any other suggestions for a recreational kayak around 13′ for use in lakes? there is no way for us to tell you what is best for you. we don’t know your skills, but they are both good kayaks.

Old Town Adventure

The Old Town Adventure XL 160 Kayak with rudder has the stability that beginning boaters need and a long profile to make paddling effortless on extended trips. The rudder is a great help too for direction.
