Kayak at Marineland Dolphin Conservation Center

In our continuing effort to provide the best eco-educational kayaking experiences in Northeast Florida, Ripple Effect Ecotours has partnered with Marineland and the University of Florida's Whitney Lab for Marine Bioscience. This is the perfect kayaking location to explore the Jordon and Mellon Island Sites that are part of Faver-Dykes State Park, The Princess Place Preserve, and the Pellicer Creek Aquatic Preserve. This biologically rich area has been described as “the cornerstone behind the nomination of the Matanzas River as the 25th National Estuarine Research Reserve of the United States”.  This is where the Matanzas Inlet, one of the only natural inlets on the east coast of Florida, collides with one of the most pristine, undeveloped tidal streams in Florida, The Pellicer Creek.  This kayak tour leaves from the town of Marineland to explore the coastal lagoon system in this most serene and unspoiled kayaking paradise.  With your kayak tour reservation you will receive free passes to the Marineland Dolphin Conservation Center.  Don’t miss this opportunity to visit the dolphins of Marineland, including several calves born this past year, and also the chance to witness their natural habitat in the Matanzas River with kayak only access in this “Real” Florida landscape nestled in 30,000 acres of pristine coastal habitat.  All this from the low-impact, unique perspective of a kayak!  No experience Required.  Reservations Required.
Who?  Appropriate for ages 6 and up!
Cost? $55 per person which includes admission into the Marineland Dolphin Conservation Center, guided kayak tour and all the finest equipment!  Please call for group and child discounts!
Time:  About 2.5 hours on the water + paddling and safety protocol at the beginning of every tour.
Where?  Marineland is 18 miles south of St. Augustine and located right on the beach.  The kayak tour launches from the University of Florida’s Whitney Lab that is just across the street from Marineland.  Heading south on A1A, you will turn right just the big rock “Marineland” signs into University of Florida’s Whitney Lab.  Follow the signs about 150 yards to the “Center for Marine Studies” which is the large auditorium building all the way in the back right on the Matanzas River. The kayak launch is on the right side of the building.  The address for The Whitney Laboratory is 9505 Ocean Shore Blvd. St. Augustine, FL 3208.  Coming from the south, the entrance is just passed the parking lot for the Dolphin Conservation Center on the left.

Moose Jaw River & Adventure Tours

Kayaking, commonly known as the wettest sport, is also known as the first activity to surpass redwood dominoes in most creative use of a log. Discover new river-bound trivia with today’s Groupon: for $20, you get a two-hour guided kayak tour of Moose Jaw River from Moose Jaw River & Adventure Tours, run out of Boh’s Cycle (a $40 value).
Moose Jaw River & Adventure Tours has pioneered adventure tours of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area for 20 years. Beginning at the Oval in Wakamow, tours allow nautical newcomers to embark on a two-hour clinic that schools paddlers on the basics of the craft. Participants learn about the material makeup and design of their vessels, the whims of the river gods that challenge them, and the highlights of kayaking history before heading out for an instructor-guided tour of Moose Jaw River, where they will be able to experience the feel and basic conversational skills of up to six different kayaks. After this introductory journey down the waterway, guests will have the chance to take what they’ve learned and hit the water with a choice of their own kayak.

More Than Kayaking and Fishing - Things to Do When Visiting the Baja Peninsula

Everyone needs a super vacation getaway at some point in time. If it has been awhile since you have had any vacation at all, or if you are tired of going to the same old places to do the same old things, a Baja kayak trip will be the vacation trip of your entire lifetime.

Mexico's Baja Peninsula is quickly becoming one of the favored vacation destinations. One reason for this is both the location itself and everything that is offered in it is much different from the travel spots and vacations most Americans are familiar with. People are deciding that they want to try something new -- and there is plenty to experience on a Baja kayak trip.

A vacation at the Baja Peninsula has much to offer to you. If words like adventure and exploring are included in your definition of a fun vacation, a Baja kayak trip will certainly appeal to you.

There may not be any geographical location as beautiful as this new vacation spot. It is simply chock-full of all of the beauty that nature has created. From the scenic wilderness to the impressive sea to the animal life forms, you will find it to be a wonderland overflowing with treats to view and photograph.

Your trip will be as exciting as you want it to be. There is something about participating in a whale watch, snorkeling, and fishing in this lovely warm climate that will make every moment of your vacation truly memorable.

Whether you want a thrilling vacation experience where there is never a moment without excitement and activity, or whether you want to blend your vacation nicely between adventure and relaxation, your Baja kayak trip will give you the type of vacation you want.

It is possible that you may have never experienced the unique delight of a kayak. There is really nothing that can compare with its feel. While it is the best way to maneuver in such locations as around Mexico's Baja Peninsula, it is also an interesting experience in itself.

When you are ready for the trip of a lifetime, forget all of those other vacation spots and prepare yourself for a Baja kayak trip. Not only will you be able to enjoy a warm-climate paradise even in the middle of the winter, there is so much to see and do that it will make every other travel spot look dull in comparison.
